Friends and Supporters,
Join us on April 16th for a screening of "Black Men in America," an MSNBC documentary, where we'll be joined by Pulitzer Prize and Emmy Award Winner Trymaine Lee. This documentary will delve into themes surrounding voting choices and authentic community empowerment. Check out Trymaine Lee's interview on Hot 97 for more context.
One solution proposed in the documentary is to engage young men, which is why we're curating this conversation with the 47 MBK chapters of the Brooklyn North High School Superintendency. This topic is open to all students, as voting and its impact are critical processes to understand for young leaders building their capacity to lead.
Did you know that the voting registration age was lowered to 16? While you still have to be 18 to vote, we're encouraging all students 16 and up to register so they can hit the ground running when they are 18. The Center for Law and Justice will be joining us to support this process. Please RSVP below if you wish to attend or sign up your students!
